Many of us look back to the celebrities and movie stars that we may have watched when we were younger and it seems as if we freeze them in time. Time marches on, however, but not everybody is going to accept that fate.
One of the most popular Hollywood couples is Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell. In 2023, Goldie Hawn turned 78 years old and Russell is five years younger. They have been together for some four decades and have built a beautiful family.
They also have a relationship that is a good example for many, both in Hollywood and for others. Although they never tied the knot officially, they have enjoyed a relationship and plenty of love between each other.
Goldie Hawn brought two children from her first marriage into the relationship. Kurt Russell had a son from his first marriage. They also have a son together.
The majority of the children have also done some acting in their lifetime and have their own children. That makes Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell grandparents.
One of the big questions that many have for the couple is how they have had such an enduring relationship. They have opened up about this over the years and it is not unusual to see them expressing their affection for each other on social media.
They first met on the set of a Disney movie, “The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band.” She was 21 and he was still a teenager at the time. He was too young for her, although she admits that she was intrigued.
“I was 21 and he was 16,” Hawn recollected in a BBC interview in 2012. “I thought he was adorable, but he was much too young. Then, years later we met up again, and I remembered that I liked him very much when I first met him. We both said we would never go out with another actor so it just shows you never can tell.”
He opened up about their first date, saying: “I was severely hungover and I didn’t know Goldie at all outside of having worked with her those many years before,” Russell said. “I just didn’t have in my mind what I was going to see, and she had a great body. So the first thing that came out was, ‘Man, you’ve got a great figure.’ It came out quickly and it could’ve gone wrong, and she said, ‘Why thank you.’”
Over the years, they have been in the limelight and continue to be hounded by the paparazzi. One of the problems they have had to face is criticism, especially when it comes to how Goldie Holland locks.
At one time, she was a well-known beauty but these days, she is being criticized for aging ungracefully. In fact, one critic said: “Goldie Hawn Looks Like an Ugly Swan. Not only her but many others in Hollywood & Bollywood need to learn how to age gracefully.”
Despite the fact that there are haters, they continue to love each other and he provides her with everything that she needs. She even expressed this, saying: “The other night we were going to go have dinner. He looks at me and goes, ‘You’re unbelievable. He said ‘I cannot believe how (beautiful) you look.’ He really appreciates that.”
